Snom Technology was founded in 1997 in Berlin, Germany. In 1998 company developed their first model ā€žSnom 100ā€œ. Initially based on the H.323 protocol and in the year 2000 SIP support was implemented. The same year, Snom100 gained ā€œBest of showā€ reward at CeBIT exhibition. Further on, company would sell only VoIP, SIP-based phones (Session Initiation Protocol), interoperable components for enterprise communication systems that are compatible across standards-based platforms from different vendors. After initial success, Snom quickly became one of the leading manufacturers of IP telephones. In order to address worldwide markets, Snom opened offices in Massachusetts USA (2006), Italy (2008), France (2009) and United Kingdom (2010).

Devotion to perfection, attention to detail and German engineering, creates voice quality differentiation compared to a majority of other vendors. During the design phase and production of Snom IP telephones, the company utilizes a wide range of testing tools in accordance to the latest requirements of telecommunication industry, ensuring delivery of only the supreme quality products to its customers.

In addition to SIP desk and wireless phones, like the M80 Industrial Handset, Snom produces also the complementary headsets, wireless mic conferencing phones, and hospitality vertical phones (branded VTech). With the wide array of available Snom products, businesses can quickly and easily find the right endpoints for each endpoint user in the office.

Snom believes in easy management and hands-free deployment, which aligns with the 3CX PBX. For 3CX providers or users, Snom products are ideal. Snom SIP phones, including the Snom D300 & D700 Series, can be used with 3CX. Each of Snom’s phones can be easily configured via its web interface, or alternatively to allow it to be provisioned & configured remotely from the PBX interface.

Unlike any other in the world, Snom software provides a huge and unparalleled set of features that are useful to the business professional. Since the very first version of Snom firmware, there has been constant and ongoing development focused on being open to a wide variety of ITSPs and being interoperable with a wide range of IP PBX platforms. Snom is a feature leader, and when new technology is introduced, Snom is among the first to provide these latest features on our telephones.

Snom provided failsafe modern IP communications solution for the German Red Cross, General Secretariat.

All Snom phones are compatible with SIP-based telephone systems and system components, including open source platforms such as Asterisk, SER, sipXecs, and IP-PBX systems offered by companies such as BroadSoft, Epygi (Quadro IP PBX), MetaSwitch, Pandora (Worksmart), ADTRAN (NetVanta UC Server), pbxnsip, Sylantro, and many more. Some devices also support virtual private networking and wireless encryption (WEP/WPA).

Snom has been in partnership with HP (now HPE) since 2011 and is the only 3rd party vendor to provide telephones to HPE acting as the end-point for HPE on the desk. The Snom phones being used by HPE are Microsoft Windows CE optimized for Lync and Skype for Business Server, and feature Snom industrial design hardware. A combination that delivers superb quality and aesthetically pleasing design with a high audio-quality casing.
